Quectel Successfully Attended Navitech 2014 2014-10-12

Quectel Launched Compact ROM-based GPS Module L70-R: Low Cost, Low Power and High Sensitivity 2014-10-12

 Quectel launched a high-performance and low-cost ROM-based L70-R GPS module. It adopts MediaTek 3337 signal chip solution and pin to pin compatible with Quectel GPS L70 and GNSS L76 modules. It comes in a 10.1mm × 9.7mm × 2.5mm package and includes tracking sensitivity of -165dBm and acquisition sensitivity of -148dBm. It is designed with multiple power saving mode (AlwaysLocate™/Periodic mode /Standby mode/Backup mode) and characterized by ultra low power consumption, 13mA at the tracking mode.

 

The L70-R brings the high performance of MTK positioning engine to the industrial applications. It is able to achieve the industry’s highest level of sensitivity, accuracy and TTFF with the lowest power consumption in a small-footprint lead-free package. With 66 search channels and 22 simultaneous tracking channels, it can acquire and track satellites in the shortest time even at indoor signal level.

 Acquisition of the ATOP Business from Leading Global Semiconductor Company Concludes with the Creation of Telit Automotive Solutions

London, April 2, 2014 – Telit Wireless Solutions, a leading global vendor of high-quality machine-to-machine (M2M) modules, value-added services and solutions, today announced it has concluded the acquisition of the Automotive Telematics On-board unit Platform (ATOP) business from Netherlands-based NXP Semiconductors (Nasdaq NXPI). ATOP is an automotive grade solution for vehicle manufacturers to implement eCall or similar functionality from a single compact and cost efficient package, delivering reduction in complexity and minimized costs in vehicle designs, customer data as well as regulatory compliance. The company at the same time launched Telit Automotive Solutions, a new business unit which is to focus exclusively on the Automotive OEM and Tier-one markets. The new organization will be headed up by industry veteran and long-time Telit executive, Dominikus Hierl as its CEO.
